Jaguar E-Type - Series 1

We at Fender and Broad have created over 2 dozen perfect XK120’s for our customers. Now we present for sale the first Broadsport E Type.

The glorious, highly acclaimed and much loved E Type is indeed a quintessential part of the UK motoring history. Most people’s favourite car as voted in various poles. Yes a stunning thing to look at and in some cases to drive. As a standard production car it was simply a sensation in the 1960’s. On the race track is set a new standards of performance.

The E Type as with all cars of this age has its shortcomings but not this car.  Here we have the ‘perfect’ E Type from the Jaguar engineering genius of Guy Broad. Stunning to look at just as it always was. However this car is engineered to be the perfect car for high speed touring with a full compliment of Broadsport upgrades. Restored starting from a rust free bodyshell and finished in a glorious Aston Martin metallic green trimmed in suede green leather with the following engineering specification:     

Bodyshell:
The superb original body shell was in great shape and only needing localised repairs after media blasting and etch priming.

Engine:
4.2l unit totally rebuilt with rebored block and 9:1 compression with Mahle pistons, ACL duraglide bearings, rear oil seal conversion to lip type rubber, upgraded oil pump, new timing gears and chains, hydraulic tensioner and guides, re-hushed and resized con-rods which were balanced and fitted with new bolts, new steel billet flywheel (9kg) with upgraded AP clutch kit all items also balanced, cylinder head pressure tested then gas flowed and ported, new valves with new followers and upgraded valve springs, ACL duraglide cam hearings, new 3/8" lift correct profile D Type camshaft, new water pump, full electronic ignition, 80 amp altemator kit, "spin on" all filter conversion kit, silicone plug lead kit, fully rebuilt original HD8 SU carburettors, and finally gas flowed inlet manifold match ported.

Gearbox:
Broadsport  5 speed gearbox with 0.73:1 final gear ratio with the addition  of a new balanced prop shaft.

Front Suspension:
Original l perfect wishbones media blasted and zinc plated and then assembled with full polybush kits, new ball joints, bearing, seal, hubs, upgraded front anti roll bar kit, fully adjustable ride height torsion bar kit, all new fixings zinc plated as original, double adjustable AVO shock absorbers.

Rear Suspension:
Stripped and all components media blasted or acid cleaned, 3.54:1 'power lock' differential fully rebuilt with new bearings seals and LSD plates, suspension cage along with driveshaft sand wishbones all etch primed and powder coated, completely rebuilt with new fulcrum bearing kits hubs brake discs and drive shaft UJ's double adjustable AVO shock absorbers with upgraded coil springs with radius arm mounts and axle caged vee mounts in polyurethane.

Brakes:
Fronts are AP racing 4 piston (5200) calipers with 295x25mm ventilated 2 piece brake discs, stainless steel Aeroquip brake hoses, full kunifer pipe kit and all brass fittings/unions, new and correct brake master cylinder and servo unit. Rears are Girling 2 piston (12/3) calipers new as normally fitted to series 2 E-Types and XJ6 models with completely rebuilt handbrake units and new brake discs and pads.

Fuel system:
Brand new fuel tank with fitting upgraded, facet fuel pump kit, complete new fuel line kit, filter bowl and unions throughout.

Cooling System:
Original radiator with a new high performance core a new header tank assembly and a silicone water hose kit with performance electric fan kit all stainless steel hose clamps.

Exhaust System:
Full six branch stainless steel system, 2 inch bore with correct pattern silencers and tail pipes, all new fittings and mounting.

Steering:
New high ratio steering rack, poly mounting, new UJs, new track rod ends fully rebuilt upper and lower steering columns to original finish and spec.

Wheels:
6x15" 72 spoke offset competition wheels, stainless steel spokes with chrome rims and hubs, these are tubeless specification and fitted with 205x70 radial tires and 3 eared new chrome wheel spinners to special order.

Exterior fittings:
All original chrome work professionally stripped polished and triple plated as to new factory finish, new lamps front and rear, new bright work wherever necessary, matching key barrel to door locks, all new rubber seals gasket and trim, new "Sundym" glass(light green tint)with additional of heated rear screen ( fine element type), badges badge bar and details pieces all as original and new.

Interior:
Completely and fully re-trimmed to correct Jaguar specification, leather, carpets, hardura and correct fixtures and fittings all in as new condition to original spec. Radio with MP3 connection included to centre console in period style, seats belts included, full heater system rebuilt with new matrix and fan motor all to original spec and finish, all instruments fully restored to as new condition, complete new cloth covered wiring loom throughout, all clips and joints new as orinial spec.

Other items:
All under bonnet finish to original spec, air cleaner assembly, fan cowls, pipe work, wiring, clips and decals all to replicated correct 1965 fit and finish.

Ready for immediate delivery and sold with a 12 month drivetrain warranty.
