Morris Minor 1000 1957
This one's a bit special.
Only 2 owners from new, previous owner for the past 50 years.
This car is in its completely original state and unrestored.
Nicely patinated this car is almost too original to restore.
Having spent its entire life in sleepy Cornwall, first owner in Newquay from 1957 to 1966 and then by the second owner for 50 years in Camborne from 1966 to the present.
Originally supplied new by Hawkins St Stephens Motors in Cornwall (Hawkins Motors are still going!) and purchased by the previous owner in 1966 again from Hawkins Motors.
Having been well maintained by its engineer owner the engine runs as smooth as a sewing machine with a healthy Morris Minor exhaust note.
Original engine, gearbox, axle.
Completely rust free and solid body.
Apart from a few small patches underneath this car has had almost no welding and retains all of its original panels.
The interior features the original red leather seats (in need of some tlc)and original steering wheel.
The original trafficator turn signals are still fitted although the previous owner has also fitted light bulb indicators (though these could easily be removed if desired to return to original specification)
The meticulousness of the previous owner also shows with the documentation as this vehicle comes with a big file of documents and owner's manuals
In the boot there is the original jack and tools.
Those looking for a concours condition fully restored car look elsewhere, this car is for those looking for a really original unrestored car in good solid condition.
This car has been fully serviced in our workshops and also treated to new tyres and refurbished wheels all round.
The interior is completely original with red leather seats and red carpets and nicely patinated, however the car would benefit from a new headlining.
This car drives beautifully, the engine is smooth with a crisp response to the throttle. There are no horrible noises from the gearbox with a smooth change through all the gears. Steering, suspension and brakes all work as they should. This car is a pleasure to drive and brimming with character.
A really lovely classic and a rare opportunity to acquire a car that has not been on the market for 50 years.
